A Wiltshire woman has described her moggy's lucky escape after it returned home one night with a noose tied to its neck, it has been reported.
Cat lover Jackie Dickman, 61, of Haydon View Road, Pinehurst, described the incident as "sick" and expressed her shock as to how it could happen, according to the Wiltshire Gazette and Herald.
Tiger, a grey tabby, returned home with some copper wiring attached to his neck - resembling a rabbit snare often found in rural areas.
Andrew Turkington, a partner at Drove Veterinary Hospital who treated the cat, told the publication it was unusual and "very worrying" to find such a trap in an urban area.
"I don't know what happened - it could have been a trap set for a fox or just someone who doesn't like cats," Ms Dickman told the newspaper.
Whatever is the case, other cat owners need to be warned so this does not happen to anyone else's pets, she added.
