A woman fell out of a tree while trying to rescue her cat, it has been reported.
Neighbours feared Angela Axten was dead following the fall as she was trying to help free her beloved animal, according to the Surrey Herald.
Her cat Reefer got stuck up the rotting tree in the back garden of neighbours Serena Barber and Lee Hill's Sunbury home on Saturday afternoon.
When the cat lover climbed up the tree to rescue the animal a branch gave way and she fell head first onto paving stones and rocks, the report states.
Ms Barber told the publication: "Honest to God, I thought I was going to lose her."
The newspaper notes that an air ambulance was dispatched and landed in Grovely Recreation Ground before Ms Axten was taken to hospital in a regular ambulance to St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey where she is waiting for a back brace to be fitted.
Ms Axten suffered head injuries and two broken vertebrae in the fall.
In other news, it was reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post this week that dog lovers in Leeds entered their animals in a pet Olympics last week.
