TV star's tortoise finds love [29/10/2008]
TV star Ruth Jones' pet tortoise has found love, according to reports.

The Gavin and Stacey actress' beloved companion recently went missing for five weeks, eventually turning up at Cardiff's Lamby Way after climbing into a dustbin liner, reports the Wales Echo.

According to the news provider, Tom the tortoise has received a raft of love letters since his well-publicised adventure, with many tortoise owners offering to introduce him to their female pets.

Tom has headed out on a couple of dates since the event, with Ruth telling the publication: "Tom had never met a girl tortoise and he was a bit smaller than them!

"There was tortoise flirting with both the girls but he definitely took a shine to Harriet."

However, the comedienne added that any blossoming romances will have to be put on hold as Tom will be heading into hibernation for the winter.

Meanwhile, a 14-year-old tortoise has been stolen from his owner's garden in Conyngham Road, Little Billing.
The Northampton Chronicle reports that Flash is a Spurside Greek Tortoise.
