Stafford Gets Its Own Calendar Girl...And It's A Cat!
Move over Calendar Girls – a cat from Stafford has been chosen as one of 12 online ‘Calendar Cats’ and is all set to become an internet video sensation.
As the July Calendar Cat, Little Dumpty Roo and her devoted owner, Carol Lake, will act as real life brand ambassadors for the super premium cat food brand, Purina ONE. To do this, Carol has fed Little Dumpty Roo a new food in the Purina ONE range for one month and has kept a record of the visible difference to Little Dumpty Roo’s appearance.
A film crew has since visited their home and recorded a short film that will be part of a viral campaign, and available for viewing at www.purinaone.co.uk/calendarcats.
Carol says: "Little Dumpty Roo is a real diva cat so I knew the judges wouldn’t be able to resist picking her. They’ve even nicknamed her ‘Queen of Cats’ on account of the fact that she has incredibly high standards and treats everyone in the house as her personal staff! We trialled new Purina ONE with Actilea for a month and her coat is now much softer and shinier."
"Now, thousands of other cat lovers are going to see our story in the Calendar Cats film that we’ve recorded. I’ve told my friends and family that we’re going to be super-stars of the cat world!"
Carol and Little Dumpty Roo have also been treated to a professional photography session with Nick Ridley, one of the UK’s best animal photographers, and will receive a unique framed portrait photograph.
Purina ONE Senior Brand Manager, Helen Cheeseman, comments: "Many people don’t realise that something as simple as feeding a quality food can help to support their pet’s health and even help visibly improve their appearance. We wanted real cat owners to see the difference themselves and help us ‘spread the word’ about their experience to people just like them."
