It's Time To Get Snapping! [10/04/2003]
Cats Protection launches its popular, annual photographic competition today to find the nationís feline faces of 2003. Amateur photographers have until 15 August to capture their feline friendís star quality on film and demonstrate their own creativity. The competition has six categories this year, including:
- Cats and Companions - Living in Harmony. New for 2003 in
keeping with the charity's Living in Harmony campaign. Capture your cat with
his animal friends.
- Cute Kittens - The category for you if your kitten's middle
name is adorable!
- Perfect Portrait - Capture the essence and personality of
your cat in a special portrait shot.
- Cats and People - Immortalise that special relationship
between cats and humans on film.
- Cats in Action - Stretching, playing, eating, jumping -
catch your cat in the act.
- Junior Photographer - Aged 16 or under? Enter the Junior
Photographer category -
simply pick any of the above themes as creative fodder for your photo.
An impressive range of prize packages are on offer for the overall winner, as well as for the six category winners and twenty runners-up. Winning photos may be featured in Cats Protectionís publications, including The Cat magazine and the charityís calendars.
Digital prints are acceptable, as long as they are unaltered from their original state, printed on proper photographic paper and accompanied by the original image on disk.
