A Purr-fect Match? [31/05/2006]
Cats Protection has launched a fun new survey to determine our rationale in choosing our feline friends. Though designed with fun in mind, the survey has a serious purpose, in trying to ascertain why some cats find new owners very quickly while others are left in the charity’s care for much longer. By better understanding the choices cat owners made in selecting their pet, Cats Protection hope to be able to re-home some of the cats in their care quicker. The charity re-homes around 60,000 cats per year.
“For a charity that rehomes thousands of cats and kittens every year, it will be very useful to find out why some cats find homes quickly, while others get overlooked,” explained Janet Wickens, Head of Fundraising and Communications at Cats Protection. “What’s more, it would be fascinating to see what our choice of cat says about us!”
The survey includes questions on whether your cat is a rescue cat; what traits attracted you to your moggie and what kind of personality your cat has. It also contains a number of questions about you and your lifestyle to help Cats Protection to understand the combination of characteristics that work. It just takes just a few minutes to complete, and will hopefully help the cat care charity, to better understand the needs of cats and their prospective owners.
To take part in the survey, log onto www.cats.org.uk or you can request a copy by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Closing date for the receipt of forms is 30th June, with results being published later in the year.
