Salmopet Salmon Oil is made from 100% fresh Norwegian salmon, using pure salmon oil, without additives. Salmopet Salmon Oil contains multiple unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids, important for a variety of physiological processes in dogs and cats. These fatty acids are of vital importance for optimal development, maintenance, and functions of various tissues and organs, especially: cell membranes, skin and coat, kidneys, blood vessels, immune system, precurring substances for hormones and transmitters.
In a normal diet, these omega-3 fatty acids are often not present in a sufficient amount. Furthermore, numerous physiological and pathological conditions raise the need for omega-3 fatty acids. The regular dietary addition of salmon oil has proved beneficial in the following circumstances: infections, wound healing, post-operative stress, skin conditions (eczema, dandruff, excessive hair loss, allergies, immune related conditions and stress, geriatric conditions).
The formula also lists arachidonic acid which is essential for cats and not contained in vegetable oils. This too has proven beneficial for coat and skin problems.
