Unfortunately I live in a hard water area and eventually the motor gave up. It is noisy but she doesn't seem to mind at all. Sorry but wouldn't recommend.                     My Cat loves it ! posted on 17/02/2011 by Martine For a few days, I placed the fountain near the tap, and switched on the fountain every time my cat wanted me to turn on the tap. That did the trick. I have now moved the fountain to the floor and my cat drinks regularly off the fountain (water on or off). The fountain is a little bit more noisy than I expected but it is wonderful to see my cat drink from it,as he only ever drank from a tap before, refusing to drink from its water bol, even though I keep changing the water. Definitely a wonderful product!                     God Send posted on 15/07/2010 by Tracy Brown Ordered this fountain after reading the reviews as 1 of my Persian cats will only drink from the bath tap and i was worried she was not taking in enough water as i have to go out to work. Both of my cats went straight over to it within 5 minutes of assembly (which is very easy as is the cleaning of the product). Now i know that both of my cats can have filtered water with no chemical taste as you would get with standing water - as much as they like when ever they like. The motor is exceptionally quiet and all you can hear is the quiet trickle of the fountain which is quite soothing for me too when i am relaxing after a night shift!! It's not always easy to gage which is the right product and with the varying costs having the reviews to check through made it a simple choice. The size is ideal as it doesn't take up much room though holds ample water and as it does run so quietly i have not needed to switch it off. Ordered the filters and the cleaning brushes too which i would recommend - all in all i cannot find fault with this product of the service from Petplanet - great delivery time.
