As soon as he was adult we switch him to RC Dental and have been using it for over a year now. He loves it (and the RC Cocker Spaniel breed specific). More importantly at his last six month health check the nurse was most complimentary on the condition of his teeth. It may not be the cheapest but it is considerably less than elsewhere and could save you the cost of dental work and having to put your dog through a proceedure needing GA.                     Keeps the tartar at bay! posted on 12/04/2010 by Poppy's mum Had to have my dog's teeth scaled - costs a small fortune as requires anaesthetic - and this really does prevent tartar build up. I'm currently mixing it 50/50 with other dried dog food and a bowlful just vanishes                     Does what it says on the packet! posted on 03/06/2010 by Jo Hughes My whippet has an allergy to plaque so it is lips that suffer rather than his gums, and the tartar doesn't have to be bad for ulcers to flare up. Over the years he's had several descale operations and teeth removed. Now he's on this dental food the tartar has not returned so his lips are nice and pale instead of ulcerated and infected.
