Because of their size, texture and shape, Dental kibbles have a mild abrasive effect on dental plaque and tartar when chewed. Sodium polyphosphate binds salivary calcium, making it unavailable for tartar formation. Increased amounts of a synergistic complex (niacin, pantothenic acid, choline, inositol and histidine) reduces transepideraml water loss and supports the barrier effect of the skin. Increasing the urine volume helps reduce saturation of urine with both struvite and calcium oxalate in small dogs predisposed to urolithiasis. Customer Reviews:                     Scratchs favourite food posted on 11/12/2012 by Scratch the Border Terriers Mum Our Border Terrier has been fed on Royal Canin products for all of his 12 plus years The vet recommended the Canin Dental range when he went in for his first ever scale and polish a couple of years ago and we havent looked back We sometimes mix it with a bit of James Wellbeloved wet food for variety and it all disappears from the bowl immediately If I had a niggle it is that it is not dry enough to use as a treat as it has a slightly sticky surface so we use Wellbeloved small kibble for that purpose Thoroughly recommended I only wish they did bigger packs                     My Jack Russell loves this posted on 29/10/2012 by jackrusselldevotee Our vet recommended that we use this product after our dog had been in for a descale and general dental clean up and guess what he loves it Not only does it help to keep the tartar at bay and his teeth clean but he enjoys munch on it and we can hear him from the other room When hes finished eating he races round the living room and plays with every toy in sight Must give him plenty of energy as well Read all reviews...
