NEW FORMULA NOW 80% MEAT

Orijen is a BARK (Biologically Appropriate Real-Food Kibble) diet, formulated with high protein and low carbohydrates to replicate the same rich and diverse balance of fresh meats, fruits, vegetables and grasses that puppies and young dogs of all breeds would encounter in a wilderness setting. Made with the highest inclusions of fresh chicken, turkey, whole eggs and wild-caught whitefish, Orijen is bursting with the protein-packed, human grade meats (min 80%) your puppy needs, and none of the grains or carbohydrates that are inappropriate. Specially formulated for large breeds, Orijen Puppy Large Breed is made with low-ash meat ingredients that reduce dietary ash and subsequently prevent elevated calcium and phosphorous that are a common concern for large breed puppies. Fresh lake whitefish and Chinook salmon are a superb source of unrendered essential fatty acids (including DHA and EPA) that nutritionally support the development of cell membranes and immune systems, as well as a vibrant skin and hair coat. Helping to bridge the gap between good nutrition and peak health are psyllium, dandelion root, sweet fennel and peppermint leaf, all of which replicate the natural diet to nourish and tone the digestive tract and strengthen the liver. And, because of its high-quality protein content, your dog doesn’t need to eat as much kibble as he does with other dry foods, meaning a single bag lasts much longer, e.g. a 30 kilo dog with a normally active lifestyle requires only 275g of Orijen kibble per day.

14 weeks Golden Retriever posted on 14/04/2011 by Angied
I heard about this product from a friend who also has a retriever, after asking him what he fed his dog on. Jessie was on Eukanuba and also the Hills science plan, but both have wheat and grain in, and I wanted something that had no bulk food in it, and also Jessie was picking at her other food. I ordered the 2.5kg bag just to try her on it, well she could not get enough of it. I am now ordering a 7.5 kg bag. Orijen is not cheap, but neither are the others that she has been on, and I would much rather pay more for better quality food for her.
The best dog food! posted on 20/02/2011 by lorrainejessmick
Have had trouble with my Alaskan Malamute, with all types of food. Had this on trial and have never looked back. Eats it with no difficulty, no fuss and has never looked so good. Best food on the market

Came across Orijen whilst looking for the best large breed dry puppy food for my Rhodesian Ridgeback So bit the bullet and bought a 135 kilo bag Petplanets fast delivery as always and was safely packaged I switched my pup over slowly and after a month have noticed a clear difference in his coat and behaviour with certainly less farts Thanks petplanet will make another order soon
What a difference! posted on 13/10/2010 by 77
Our standard poodle puppy was on Purina kibble when she came to us, and we felt she was hyper minutes after eating it. We decided to ease her onto a barf diet and put her onto Orijen and raw tripe/meat plus nature diet. There's been a distinct difference - she's thriving - still very lively but without being manic. Loves her food, including all the Orijen. Her coat is noticeably shinier. We're really pleased with the Orijen as it adds a bit of difference to her food, and all the bits of fruit etc she needs. She doesn't pick it out; she eats it as a training treat. I gave it 4 for value because it's expensive, she though not as expensive as some, but leaves nothing, as opposed to all the biscuits we've wasted with previous dogs. Wish I'd known about this earlier. Petplanet as usual delivered promptly so we'll be ordering more whenever we need it.
Excellent food for Flat Coat Retrievers posted on 11/04/2010
After lots of research we decided that we wanted a dog food with no grain or other carbohydrate bulk for our two Flat Coat Retrievers as they weren't getting on with Purina Pro Plan - Orijen replicates the type of diet your dog would eat in the wild, its high in protein (70%) and has none of the rubbish that is used to bulk out other pet foods but that dogs struggle to digest. Since the switch to Orijen both dogs have gone from strength to strength, no more upset tummies and they are visibly healthier with stunning glossy coats; when we are out walking people often comment on how healthly the dogs look and other dog owners have asked us what 'our secret' is, but I have to admit that its not a secret its the Orijen!
Love this product posted on 27/08/2009
After having tried many high end dry dog food on the market for our labrador puppy Murphy, with them all giving him an upset tummy we opted to try the dog food of the year and are very pleased with the outcome. We purchased the chicken large breed variety and although it stated chicken it does smell very fishy. I don't like the pong but our Murphy clears his dish every meal. His coat has a great shine and he is very happy and growing well. Well worth spending a little extra money for a far superior dog food and believe me we have tried quite a few.
