Orijen Regional Red is a BARK (Biologically Appropriate Real-Food Kibble) diet that replicates the rich and diverse balance of meats, fruits, vegetables and grasses that dogs would encounter in their natural environment. Loaded with premium red meats, Regional Red is made with high levels of wild boar, lamb, heritage pork and bison, all raised free-range, passed fit for human consumption and delivered FRESH each day. Free of grains and carbohydrates, Regional Red features regional fruits and vegetables including russet potatoes and blackcurrants from local prairie farms, apples and cranberries from the interior orchards, and organic sea vegetables from the North Pacific tidal range. Fresh (never frozen) salmon provide a superb source of Omega-3 that support a vibrant skin and hair coat, your dogs outer symbol of health and vitality. Bridging the gap between good nutrition and peak health, veterinarian-selected botanicals include sweet fennel, dandelion root and peppermint leaf, all of which mirror the instinct to forage for grasses and weeds while serving to nourish and tone the digestive tract. Made exclusively in an award-winning, family-owned factory, Orijen Regional Red is a natural and delicious way to assure the peak health of your dog, no matter what his breed or size. And, because of its high-quality protein content, your dog doesn’t need to eat as much kibble as he does with other dry foods, meaning a single bag lasts much longer, e.g. a 30 kilo dog with a normally active lifestyle requires only 275g of Orijen kibble per day. | We have used this food for our mongrel for about 10 months now and it must be good because she doesn't scavenge for other food when on a walk which we've seen some dogs doing. A great all round dried food. The only thing I would suggest Orijen do is to make the bag resealable since the food is supposed to stay fresher within it. |

Dogs enjoyed it

| My dogs enjoyed this variety of Orijen. I have a toy breed and large breed and both are doing very well on this food. One of my dogs has allergies resulting in very dry skin and stomach upsets and since being on Orijen, (original, 6fish and regional red), her skin is much better she hardly ever itches now and her stomach has improved a great deal too. Both dogs are ideal weights. |

| Seems to be excellent quality and gets very good reviews elsewhere It is expensive but I only use it as something different to his BARF diet of raw chicken wings to make sure he gets the balance of fruit vegetables etc Doesnt give him loose stools like the Ziwi Peak I was previously using Trial size bags are available too which is good given the price |

| My dog was diganosed with cancer over a year ago, all through her body, too late to operate. I read somewhere about feeding a high protein diet so chose Origen RR. She has lived much longer than expected and is running a lot on her walks. Can't definitely say that this is because of the food, but I won't be changing it! I love the natural ingediant list. |

| This is probably my dogs' favourite of all the Orijen flavours, and it's a good quality product. Sadly, it's extremely pricey so they only get it occasionally. |

Runny stools for a week or more

| My small maltese has very bad diarrhea after eating it. I guess it's my fault as I didn't slowly change its food, by mixing the new with the old kibbles. It has been over a week now.
I am wondering if it's because the protein level is 40%, way too high for a small toy dog that doesn't do much, apart from sleeping, eating, and going out for a stroll. It won't even fetch ball for you, I have to fetch it for him. LOL
The normal dog kibbles tends to be around 20%. |
