All you need to do is submerge the pad for 1-2 minutes in cold water. This means that hyperkewl can absorb the water. When this has been completed, you would squeeze out any excess water, wipe the material dry and place it upon the floor. The garment remains active for 5-10 hours. If necessary you can then repeat the process re-hydrating as needed. This is a great way to ensure that your dog remains comfortable
