I went with the reviews and got a medium for my miniature schnauzer pup to grow into It is a decent size Depending on how large she gets I would go for a large or extra large next I like dogs to have lots of space Excellent value for money and a good sturdy build

This is a very good cage well made strong light Got the medium size so my Jack Russell had plenty of room to move round as well as having his bed in there Handy as its got the plastic tray in the bottom to keep the floor or cars carpet clean Very pleased with it and a great price to

This crate is very reasonably priced and the same basic design as more expensive models However the plastic tray is slightly smaller than the bottom of the crate and therefore it can slip around I used pieces of the cardboard packaging as a wedge to make it secure Petplanet informed me that this is so the tray can be removed for cleaning but that suggests to me that the doors are too small or the tray too rigid Budget price though

I ordered the medium crate for my 8 week old Parson Russell puppy
Its a great size and hell be able to use it throughout his life which is fab
I ordered the crate very late on Friday 220212 and I knew that they wouldnt dispatch it over the weekend but I got an email on the Monday night 25022013 saying that the crate had been dispatched and it arrived on the Wednesday morning 27022013 in perfect time for the puppy coming home the following day o
Overall Im very pleased with the service I received and even more so with the crate o Its amazing value for money very sturdy and spacious

I brought this puupy crate for my new chiuhahau puppy It is a perfect size for her I also brought the extra small bed to use inside it These two together work just right as the extra small bed is only half the size of the small puppy crate therefore perfect for paper one size for toileting at night I am very pleased with the crate and bed

I was pleased to see tray included and a 2nd door which I had not noticed This was bought as a gift for me for a lurcher rescue 6mth puppy with a leg injury needing caging to recuperate for 6 weeks
However i had misjudged the size needed Entirely my fault forgot about growing thought it large enough It seemed correct on measuringBut the loveable bouncy rogue has nearly our grown it his head almost touches the top does if he stands on the pillow Going by length of legs he has a lot to grow He shreded 3 layers of newspaper under the bedding and lightly scratched the tray But now settles swiftly
Quality made product excellent price portable The 2 h bolts very necessary buyers beware of ensuring they slide fully home The 2nd time I missed the loops He zippospeedoprancer needed no invitation to bounce out into the living room

Purchased the XL for my male Irish setter pup to go in the back of our Land Rover Discovery and also for a bed crate to go in our tent whilst on hoilday It fits a treat in the Disco and will be just the right size for the pup when hes fully grown It does rattle around a bit in the back of our car but as its not a proper car cage Im not surprised It is very easy to put up and down although some of the black paint is started to wear from where we have been putting it up and down to get it in and out of the car but it doesnt detract from it use Folds down easily and has a clip to hold it securely in its folded position This cage came with a free cover which is a very good quality considering it is free and was perfect for camping to give the pup some extra protectionwarmth in the tent overnight x28his own sleeping compartmentx29

This cage was purchased to facilitate moving home with my 2 cats. It was exactly what I was hoping for plenty of room for the cats plus blankets food and water. They also liked the separate cover on but partially opened as I think it made them feel safe. A well made product and very good value for money. Would recommend cage and cage cover as well as pet planet generally I bought the medium size cage and cover.

This is excellent value for money, extremely easy to assemble and a bed fits in it quite comfortably. The only mistake I made was to buy the budget crate instead of the standard and had to send for a separate cover. The cover also does the job intended and my dog is very comfortable in there.

We bought a large crate which arrived promptly and is of great quality. Unfortunately a smaller crate we ordered arrived with a cracked tray and the cage bent but being a large mailorder item becomes awkward to arrange return etc. Otherwise normally great value product.

We purchased one of the XL versions as a new home for our Dobie puppy and although she is still very small the crate makes a home from home for her and is very content either sleeping or playing with her numerous toys. Quick delivery and very pleased with the quality of the product itself.

Nicely finished and sturdy cage. The plastic bottom tray is very easy to clean. Folds up very easily for convenient transportation when taking the dog on holiday. Also have the extra large version which has been in use for 12 months now. I can highly recommend this product.

I bought the medium size for my staffie puppy hoping it would last and she wouldnt outgrow it. I noticed most reviews didnt mention the size of crate or breed of dog so I took a chance and its the perfect size. She has enough room to lay flat on her tummy with legs out behind her she can sit and stand up in it and it should last her into adulthood. The crate is sooo simple to erect and is really nice quality. Very pleased with this item Be aware though if you intend to purchase a crate mat you need to order a size smaller than the crate size small fits perfectly into medium crate I would highly recommend this product

brought a medium sized cage on 16512 delivered on 17512 using express I have shopped compared prices sizes around the internet for dog cages I have fpund that petplantcoUK offers better choices of sizes quality and definitely A on the cage prices. Further more with offers on the cages Definitely a quality buy.
Easy to mantle Heavy in weight which is needed for small to medium dogs Ive got an akita puppy so medium should last him for a little while as this dog is powerful a heavy cage is definitely essential. I'm so happy that i found a quality buy and value for money
Ive also brought 5 other items which were neatly packed inside the cage being parcelled up. When I opened the gave box to my surprise everything were in there as i didn't expect it in there in the first place.

I shopped around all the crates on this website extensively all are way way cheaper than any in pet shops I have seen and I do not regret my choice with this one the black colour is nice they are strong very easy to put up and an all round quality product I have 2 smalls for my toy poodles and they are just right I highly recommend the crate mat with the rolled edges to go inside too

I bought the cage for my two dogs I have a shih tzu and a cocker spaniel The size of the cage is ideal as we go camping a lot theres plenty of space for them to both move about and lie down without disturbing each other My only problem is the first one which I ordered wasnt put on the delivery so had to wait for another to be delivered apart from that I was completely satisfied

Exceptionally fast delivery I ordered the crate on 28212 and it was delivered to France on 1312 Amazing
This is the second one Ive bought The first one has had a hard life as it is left out on the balcony Its still going strong and none the worse for being out all year in blazing sun and freezing snow
I particularly like the plastic tray which is so much better than metal which makes a lot of noise and frightens puppies

I ordered the large cage and within 3 days received and had it set up in seconds. Quality is really good and can not see why you would want to pay top price. The only thing is the handle is plastic but it shouldn't matter as you are not picking it up with the dog in it.

Such a great product my Mini Dachshund puppy is very little in it but he loves it He is always so well behaved when hes in there I dont close the door often but he sees it as a safe haven it seems Definitely great value for money Im always moving it around and its still in great condition Delivery as always was quick
Crate training is going well
The only thing I can pick up on that could either be improved but may just be mine is that the main door handles can be tricky to slide There is a definite knack you need to acquire to close the door first timebut its not a problem I see it as extra safety that a dog will be unable to use their wiley ways and escape D
But yes very very happy Would definitely recommend

This dog crate is great It folds flat to move about and is easily put back up Weve had our pup for almost 3 weeks and he knows its his special place He went straight in at bed time last night Its also great to have somewhere safe and contained to put him when our older dog needs a rest I looked at crated priced over 100 in a pet shop and they were no better than this one just a lot more expensive

we got this for our cocker spaniel puppy its a good size plenty of room for him when he was little but will probably require the medium sized one once hes about 6 months old its very easy to assemble its robust and really great value only criticism is the door opening which may be the same on all crates for all I know he has to jump over quite a high threshold to get in to the crate and to begin with he would often bash is back legs on it fine now hes bigger so it would be even better if this could be lower

The Cage took a bit longer to arrive then expected but that was only due to the christmas period When it did arrive it was well packaged and is currently doing its job stopping our lab pub destroying the kitchen while we are out
This is the second time we have bought a cage from pet planet first cage was a small size for our then beagle pup we had no issues with that cage either so we were happy to use them again

The product is great but it does not come with any assembly instructions It was no hassle to put up but we found a clip on the floor with no idea where it has come from We also ordered a feeding bowl which was put inside the cage for shipping This has caused the side of the cage to become slightly bent

Generally good quality and finish. The catches are flimsier than on our previous brand of crate (outgrown). This crate is static so it doesn't matter but if the doors are used frequently I would recommend a sturdier crate.

I bought the medium sized cage for my Boston Terrier puppy and it is really big so will last her even as she grows. Collapses really easily which is great for transportation and the plastic base is wipe clean which is useful when toilet training.
The cage is such good value I am going to buy another to keep in the car.

Must admit I was surprised at how sturdy and well made this crate is, I am very pleased with it. As soon as I put it up my puppy had a sniff and went in and fell asleep. Great for transporting her home from the vet after her operation and the door is big enough to get the dog through with a buster collar on. Very satisfied.

Unfortunately the cage I received was not welded properly two bars had to be mended. Luckily we did this ourselves as we needed the cage the next day and so could not send it back.

This cage is pretty flimsy and the locks could be better but at half of the price of similar crates you cant really complain I would seriously reconsider though if you had a bigger stronger dog as Im not sure how this would hold up

As I live in an apartment I am using this cage on my balcony for my 10 month old indoor British Blue kitten. It is really roomy and he can therefore get lots of sunshine and fresh air whilst being totally safe and secure. I chose this crate because it has two doors so it can go either way round and you can still open it,and was the right size for the space I wanted to put it in. We couldn't have survived the last few weeks with out the crate. Our pup chooses to go in it and quickly learnt to go in and stay on command. He likes to pretend that he has forgotten the commands sometimes, Cheeky little monkey

I bought 2 of these for my dogs to use in my parents house and they are value for money but far from brilliant They are very secure but I bought the equivalent of these a year ago for my own house and they were far superior The lock on these the new ones are very fiddly and does not operate smoothly and I would have much preferred the original design

I recently took on a 5 mth old and very mischievous Bernese Mountain Dog pup and needed a safe place for her to sleep and to stay out of mischief For a few days I left it open with her toys in there and she got used to going in to get them and even settling down to play in there A short step to crating her when I go to bed or have to go out for a few hours She loves her crate It was very easy to assemble looks very smart and is excellent value for money

The cage exceeded expectation with regards to quality I had compared prices in stores and this was by far the best value The bottom tray was cracked on arrival but this was resolved quickly and a replacement received with a few days

I bought this cage to house my new kitten as i have an older cat and wanted some where for it to be safe at night and if I had to go out It is plenty big for litter tray basket and food which was just as well as I actually ended up with two kittens It arrived really quickly which i paid for express delivery but they only charged a couple of quid extra Only thing I would say is I trapped my finger while putting the cage up which is quite simple but prob me being stupid but be careful

I like this cage its very large and spacious for my puppy to grow into BUT I still noticed that some of the joins were raised and sharp I filed them down immediately as previously on a small cage I purchased I had injured myself on a raised join I think this is a manufacturing issue because I dont see why else twice in a row Ive had this problem

This is a very good value crate The end and side opening doors are brilliant and provide more flexibility as to where the crate can be placed Just a shame the tray doesnt quite match the quality of the crate Unfortunately the crate tray was split on arrival and this highlighted just how thin the tray was

Brought this for our Border Collie puppy My husband was originally very much against caging her but I am so pleased we did as she loves her crate and it means that I dont come downstairs in the morning to piles of poop I ordered it on a Thursday morning and it was here at 745am Friday Unpacked it put it together by pulling it up into shape Easy Puppy sleeps all night in it and no more accidents on the floor or in the crate Excellent value for money would thoroughly recommend We have the large size for our 14 week old pup which is plenty big enough to see her through to adulthood

I bought this crate for my 6 week old Cavachon mainly to be used in the car. The price of this crate was about a third of the ones I'd looked at in a well known pet store so although the reviews for this crate were good I wasnt expecting too much. However this crate is sturdy very easy to put together; just pull the sides up and clip into place and with a crate bed inside very cosy for my puppy. Like that it has two doors as the crate goes in the boot sideways facing so I can get her out easily. My only criticism is that the tray at the bottom doesn't have any non slip feetstickers so when its in the boot is does move around a bit. Would be great if pet planet stocked a non slip mat for use with this crate. Overall though a great product.

Have seen many more costly cages but this one is quite adequate for car transportation for working puppy under training I leave mine in the car but that is the security part of my transportation preparations Well made unpretentious Apart from the single carrying handle which doesnt really work cage needs two handles to keep level and should be clipped centrally for balance But otherwise excellent quality with the superb service competitive pricing plus the free delivery bonus The City Link service is superb

Great quality, I love the fact that it has two doors as I have already repositioned it's location twice so I have used both doors. The pet planet puppy pen can also be attached to it which I found really handy for those few weeks before you can walk your puppy outside.

Crate arrived quickly and I spent longer looking for assembly instructions than assembling it. Its so easy to assemble. Mat fits perfectly and my two bichons soon got used to it and go in happily. Its put a stop to the revenge peeing on my shoes when I left them alone.

For the price this is a fantastic buy. Bought for my 7 month Jack Russell who needs major hip surgery soon which will mean keeping her quiet for a while. Sleeping with her Lab companion won't be a runner so need to get her used to being separate. She loves it! Not a squeak from the first nght on. Only gripe - the cardboard packaging is way too skinny so lots of holes and some cage bars bent in transit. However I was able to put it up and the damage does not affect usefulness so didn't send it back - box much too tattered to re-use anyway!Also bought car crate (which was undamaged) and equally good value and sturdy.

I bought the extra large crate for my labradoodle puppy, so it would be big enough for him when he grows up. Its probably a bit too big for a puppy though so I put his large plastic bed in it to fill the space! On the negative side the plastic tray is of poor quality and has cracked already after just 2 weeks.

This cage is excellent quality. Very sturdy. The price is amazing and I'm so glad I purchased it. I got the 'small' size for my Italian Greyhound and it seems just right. I had stopped using PetPlanet for a year because I had some bad experiences with their customer service in the past. But I ordered again recently and I see they have really stepped up their service. They now have a professional recording on the phone and I was able to speak to an employee, whereas last year I could never get anyone to answer the phone. Because of these recent good experiences I will now be shopping with PP once again. Well done PetPlanet.

We recently bought a small size cage as a weekend/travel cage for our African grey parrot! It came very quickly and was exactly what we hoped for. It was very good value for money and very good quality - CONSIDERABLY cheaper than 'proper' parrot travel cages and the epoxy coating appears to be the same, so should be safe for birds. Our bird went in without any fuss and seems very happy in it. It's large enough for her to stretch and even exercise a little. The two doors will also be very useful. Great product and we saved a small fortune!

I am extremely pleased with the Dog Cage Budget medium. I found it much easier to assemble and lighter to carry than a similar sized but inferior cage bought from a large specialist pet shop, when I needed a cage quickly for another of my dogs and that one cost an unbelievable £40 more. Boo, my 2 year old Pug-Zu designer dog from pedigree parents, father pug mother shih-tzu, loves using it as a personal den away from my other dogs, when she wants to be alone.

I would have liked to give this a 5 but the plastic carry handle was broken and after putting it up I had an absolute nightmare trying to collapse it. The end with the door in was nearly impossible to release from the stays and I thought I was going to lose my fingers. Despite this I do think it is value for money and to be perfectly honest I could not be bothered with all the hasle of returning it as it will do the job it is designed for.

Bought this cage for our new puppy. Very good value. As described. Easy to set up. On mine carry handle not in the middle so unwieldy to carry, despite that good product. Delivery excellent.

We bought this to seperate our two 6 months old staffies at night time and when we go out to keep then out of mischief!! as they are becoming vrey boisterous They both took to it straight away no problem at all.We've had the cage for 2 weeks and now they actually take it in turn to go in at night witout any prompting which is fantastic. Great product,arrived on time One of the best purchases we've ever made.Pups love it so we're happy as it gives us peace of mind . Thanks petplanet.

Cage was as described; except it did say no tools required to set up but I did need a pair of pliers to attach one of the cage clips that was floating in the box rather than attached to the cage. Other than that it was very easy to set up. Unfortunately my pup did get himself stuck between the 'bars' of the cage on his very first venture in there; panic all round til I was able to free him and luckily I was close to hand. I do think that this is no fault of this actual cage and all the cages I looked at prior to buying were designed the same so he no doubt would have got stuck in any cage regardless of make/model/price. And he did manage to do the same thing in the puppy play pen too! (says more about the stupidity of a 9 week old puppy than the manufacture of the cage/pen). This did knock my confidence and I wired all of the cage now for added safety. He does like it though and has now learned to open the door all by himself and goes in the cage of his own free will and then lets himself out again. I still have not found the confidence to lock the door on him; which does rather defeat the purpose of buying the cage but I am sure I will in time. On the whole I think it is a good buy but would just warn any other purchaser of any cage of the potential danger of a niave puppy attempting bite through the bars.

Bought 2 of these cages recently for my 2 Jack Russells, they love them, its their private space, nice & cozy with blankets in,with room to move, The size & quality is perfect for them. As they are black cages they don't stick out like a sore thumb. Little bit of a fiddle to operate the bolts but they work fine. Would reccommend.

I bought this for my golden retreiver puppy and although we have not put her in it yet the cage is perfect size for her. When folded it slots neatly in the car as a flatpack and is very easy to carry. Def recommend.

I bought the medium crate for a house bunny, its easy to clean and she loves it, does not look budget at all, and is just as good as some of the more expensive crates that you can buy in pet shops,Prefer the black bars too, also the clasps on doors are much more secure.

It is everything you said it was in your description. Easily assembled- easy cleaned-good quality and my labrador puppy took to it with no problems. Colour also makes it less obrusive which is a bonus.

This cage is very flimsy, but for how much you pay I didnt expect much anyway. It will do for the time being until I can afford a better one. Would advise for smaller breeds, but I know my staff pup will be a little boystrious for this eventually. Great price though and good if you only need for a while or occasional use.

Love the black powder coat finish.
The door latches could be improved, and it would be nice to be able to reverse the door hingeing to suit its location.

This crate appears to be good quality. Arrives assembled and folded, just needs to be unclipped round the sides, lifted into shape and clipped together. Rounded corners. Good big size, I could have bought a smaller size for my medium size dog. One quibble is that when the door is open (which it is permanently in our house) the open door projects about a foot past the side of the crate, doesn't fold back completely flat, and can't be removed and replaced - but I was aware of this before purchasing. The cardboard packaging makes a useful cover to make a 'den' for a nervous dog

I was extremelly pleased with the Budget Extra large dog cage that I purchased for my German Shepherd puppy. I like the black colour and especially like the plastic tray,rather than a metal one that similar cages have. Easy to erect. I could not find a better value crate anywhere else.

A cage was recommended as part of our dog's treatment for anxiety problems. The idea being to create a "Cosy Den" or "Safe Place" where he can be encouraged and rewardedto use. We use the cage in the kitchen. It is just big enough for his bed to go in and we have covered the top, sides and back with a blanket to create a den. Needless to say, the door is tied back so that it can't be closed. This cage offers great value for money for this purpose. And our dog seems to have taken to it quite well.

We were recommended to buy a dog cage for our Lola when we collected her, I looked at a well known pet store and then looked online to compare prices and sizes etc. We chose to purchase on line, it was delivered swiftly and she loves it. We also bought the sheepskin bed to go in the box and we have no problems putting her in the cage in the car and going to bed.
