it is amazing for dematting if your considerate careful when brushing and when you brush in the opposite direction it acts as a smoothing slicker for a nice finish this and a normal brush is all you need it is very small also

Excellent brush for small dogs with longer coats but cant say about short haired dogs as dont have any

I use it everyday when I brush my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. It's just the right size for a small dog and gets any tangles out.
