King British Green Water Control is to be used when suspended green algae takes hold in a pond. Suspended green algae are present in all natural aquatic environments and in small quantities it is beneficial. However, when excess nutrients and light are available, algae in aquariums can become thick, unsightly and out of control. It may also be harmful to fish because it can clog the filter, foul the water, irritate fish’s gills, deplete the oxygen in the water (especially at night) and cause pH fluctuations. Green Water Control binds suspended algae cells into biodegradable clumps that sink to the bottom of the tank. It is important to remove the dead algae as soon as possible to prevent oxygen depletion in the aquarium which could stimulate renewed algae growth. King British Green Water Control is suitable for use in Tropical & Coldwater aquariums.
