Royal Canin Urinary High Dilution is formulated for the nutritional management of dissolution of struvite uroliths and management of calcium oxalate urolithiasis. Urinary S/O High Dilution effective dissolves struvite uroliths. Diluting urine decreases urinary concentration of struvites and calcium oxalates. The larger urinary volume also ensures regular bladder wash-out. Undersaturated urine is an environment where crystals cannot proliferate. Thus the urine is unfavourable to the development of struvite and calcium oxalate crystals. Glycosaminoglycans are naturally present on the healthy bladder mucosa but decreases in idiopathic cystitis. This causes increased permeability of the bladder to bacteria, toxins and ions, resulting in bladder inflammation and stimulation of pain sensitive receptors.
