	Has My Kitten Caught A Cold? Q: Dear Pet Planet, I was wondering if you could tell me what might my kitten be suffering from. He seems to have a cold -- sneezing, quite runny nose which probably explains his slight wheezing/difficulty breathing. His eye is weeping a bit also and this morning it seemed he couldn't open it much. It wasn't quite as bad yesterday although he was rubbing it a bit so I've been applying eye drops every now and again to ease the irritation. He's off for a visit to the vets tonight but I was wondering if there was anything you could suggest I could do in the meantime. Yours hopefully, Dave.

A: Dear Dave, Sounds as if it could be one of the viruses which cause cat flu, but your own vet will have a better idea from seeing him. Try to keep the kittens eyes and nose clean with a little bit of damp cotton
wool or tissue. A warm bed, goes without saying. Smell is important for cats to taste food so use smelly foods if his nose is
getting blocked. If his appetite is fine just now, no problem, but if he's
picky then small amounts of fresh food often, is more appetising. Make sure
he drinks. A little eucalyptus oil in a bowl of warm water and let him inhale the
fumes, works to clear the nose just as it does with humans. The Biochemic Tissue Salt combination, Kali. mur, Kali. sulph and Nat. mur can help. Also the homoeopathic remedy Echinacea to stimulate the immune
system. The Bach Flower Remedy is another possibility. These are usually available in health stores and chemists, including Boots.
