What's Wrong with My Bunny?
Q: What's Wrong with My Bunny? PetPlanet Vets PPAdmin pettalk@petplanet.co.uk
Hi, my name is Harriet. i have a pet rabbit called Loopy, he lives outside in the garden in a hutch, and everyday we let him out to run around the garden, don't worry, there is no way he can get out, he's been running around there for two years. But about two days ago, i noticed his neck is at an angle, and when i pick him up, he rests his head, right on it's side, he also eats very
slowly. Whenever i put him down, he curls his head and body round, so he sort of lands on his back. I'm really worried about him, were taking him to the vet soon, but i just wanted to know if you could tell what is wrong? I would be really grateful if you could email me back, thanks.

You do need to get to the vet with your rabbit. It sounds as though he has a middle or inner ear infection (vestibular syndrome) which requires antibiotic and possibly other treatment. The response to treatment is variable, but it will be better if your rabbit receives treatment sooner rather than later. Angela Bodey MRCVS (Vet for PetPlanet)
