	Fussy Eater Q: My mother has a 2 year old cat. She had a problem eating when she was very young and eventually ate 'Bernard Mathews Turkey Breast' she will eat NOTHING else. Apart from the cost her diet is completely unbalanced. They have tried all sort of 'peppers' to encourage her to eat anything else. How can she get the cat to eat 'normal' Cat food? A: Oh dear, this is a frustrating and unfortunately common problem. It is important to get her to eat cat food as you know, in order to give her the correct nutrition she needs. One of the prescription food manufacturers recommend buying a blender, and getting the cat to eat blended food of the preferred variety. Then, over a period if time, proportionately add in cat food and reduce the amount of turkey, until the cat eats only blended cat food. You can either stick with this, or try to move on to mashing up with a fork, progressively leaving more chunks until the cat eats ordinary canned food. Warm the food to body temperature prior to feeding. Best of luck!
