A: Puss suffering from Post Op Depression PetPlanet Talk Adminstrator PPAdmin pettalk@petplanet.co.uk
Get her checked over by your vet to rule out possible complications after the op. If she is in good health, I'm afraid the collar will have to stay on as long as the sutures are in, to prevent your cat hurting herself by chewing them out. You can take the collar off whilst you are there to supervise, but be warned, they cat be very quick, with the sutures out like lightning and another trip to the vet, anaesthetic and re-suturing becoming necessary. In rare cases cats have taken out ALL the sutures, including the
internal ones, with horrific consequences. 10 days in the life of the cat is not really as long as it seems, and the time will fly past. Sarah Mark MRCVS (Vet for PetPlanet)
