A: Kitten who has Diarrhoea PetPlanet Talk Adminstrator PPAdmin pettalk@petplanet.co.uk
Diarrhoea can have many causes, dietary changes, food intolerance or allergy,
infection, intestinal parasites, stress and inflammatory bowel disease. Simpler causes may settle with 24 hrs without food and a careful return to normal diet, but more persistent cases may require medical treatment. If a bit of thought does not reveal an obvious cause, such as a new brand of food or the leftovers from Christmas and New Year, then a visit to the vet is
in order, as bowel changes and loss of physical condition may become more
marked with time. It may be worth taking a sample of the abnormal stool along as well.
