	My Rabbit is Losing Weight Rapidly Q: i have a pet rabbit... she's about 1 and a half years old. very healthy usually and very heavy (15 lbs usually??) now within the past two weeks she's had a rapid weight loss and has more frequent diarrhoea about 2 weeks ago she had a large ball of feces stuck to her bottom which was like a buildup of diarrhoea overnight. we gave her a bath and cleaned her as best we could. no problems since. she has not been eating as much and has significantly lost a lot of weight. she has been pooping in a different area in her cage also (as compared to where she usually does) and has a new habit of shoving most her of food out of her bowl. she has become a lot calmer over the past few weeks and now seems like she likes to be held. its just so strange that she use to be so jumpy and fat and now is normal size and mopey. no other symptoms as to my knowledge yet last night i left a towel in her cage and this morning there were some blood spots on it. i'm bringing her to the vet tonight but i was wondering if i could get some opinion on it before then. i'm very concerned... thank you!

A: I'm glad you have an appointment to take your rabbit to the vet as it sounds like she does need a thorough examination and check-up. You will have been there by now, so I hope you are on the way to getting things sorted out. Jen Campbell BVMS MRCVS
