	What Wood Preservative is Safe for my Rabbit Q: Hi, We have just had a rabbit hutch built by a carpenter but the wood has not been weather treated - the carpenter was worried that any preservative would be harmful to the rabbits. The hutch is a mixture of rough wood and finished pine. Is there a recommended wood preservative for hutches or at least guidance on the type of preservative to use? A: I personally am not sure about wood preservatives. I would suggest that you ask at a reputable pet shop which sells hutches and find out how their hutches are treated, or check with the companies who manufacture wood preservatives and see if they can tell you if their products are safe to use on hutches.
