An inner water resistant liner helps protect the beds memory foam against moisture and smells, and if the outer cover does require cleaning then it can be removed for machine washing. If you are looking for the last word in comfort for your canine companion then you cannot do better than this orthopaedic mattress.

Balancing Act

Rita is a German Shepherd and a big girl. She has hip dysplasia and is currently recovering from a major bladder operation. The bed is not really big enough for her, but it's supportive and strong. When she manages to lie on it the proper way for her hips, I can see that she is comfortable. I don't have a corner in my room where this bed could sit. It needs a supporting wall. It's thick and springy and Rita wobbles about on it when standing. When she lies down, she falls off the back edge of it. This is why it needs the supporting wall. I have rolled her duvet into a tube and put this into her duvet cover, placed over the bed. Thus creating the semblance of some back support. Squished up against the unused electric fire to keep her on the bed. On the rare occasions when she manages to place herself just right, in the middle of the bed, she can stretch out without this aid. (separate cushion under her head as she's so long). I am happy I bought the bed. It is a good, well made bed. It does need a back support for a big dog but it's a fine sturdy bed. Rita is in excess of 40kilos and this bed supports her weight very well. I would recommend the bed. Compared with many orthopaedic beds, it is budget priced. It is not budget quality however. It definitely represents value for money. The last word should go to Rita. She, after a slow start, now enjoys her new bed. She would no doubt wonder how she ever got along without it. It's definitely worth the wobble when she stands up on it and she only wishes that it could've been pink.

Great bed

My Great Dane cross is getting old and needed a really comfortable bed for his creaking bones. This fits the bill exactly. Well made and very comfortable- he loves it!
