Looks nice but lid does not work - can only be used open

I really liked the look of this basket and bought the small one. However, the lid does not work - the hinges at the back are too tightly fitted to allow the lid to close properly. It gapes over an inch in the air above the sides of the basket, which means it doesn't look nice and you can still see the contents of the basket. This is only suitable if you want to keep the lid permanently open. I bought it to tidy things away - not to put them on display. I did get a 10% discount when I complained but even with that discount it's not worth the money - I regret now that I didn't just send it back for a full refund.
