This is a superb product, really well made and is the best one I have seen . It does not let in any draughts My nervous cat started using it straight away

I love my new cat flap

My person took away my old cat flap and put in a big shiny new one He had to enlarge the hole and didnt have the right saw so lots of funny noises from him Didnt take long to fit and he programmed the tags pretty quickly The other cat who owns this house with me used it straight away but I was scared by the noise Silly me The next day I got used to it and Oh Boy no cat spray in my house and no one eating my food My people will save a lot of money on cat food What a great product

Best cat flap Ive had

With two cats originally and now 4 this cat flap gets a good workout and has been great at preventing unwanted visitors coming in and freaking out my cats I did have a small problem with the latching mechanism while still under guarantee but petmate customer services were brilliant and sent me a new cat flap straight away Helpful that they did this without wanting the old one returned first as this leaves a gaping hole in your door In operation the latch is a but noisy but its only an electric motor whirring for a fraction of a second to drive the locking pins down My cats took a while to get used to the fact that there is a small magnet on the bottom of the clear window that needs to move slightly by cat pushing against the door slightly with either a paw or a nose to energise the RF ID unlocking circuitry I like the fact that I can restrict certain cats to in only or schedule set times for in and out the programming takes a while to get into your head but once youve studied the instruction book while on your hands and knees for 10 minutes it becomes easier NIMh rechargeable batteries last better than alkalines and are costeffective I get about 4 months out of a set if 2000mAh batteries before they need a recharge Best to buy two sets of batteries so you can swap them without losing the codes if you do them quick

Does the job brilliantly and cheaper than anywhere else

We had a magnetic cat flap and the very clever cat next door had worked out how to pull it open and get in terrorising our cats The Elite cat flap has a lock which locks the door both going in and out and only opens for the radio frequency tag Since fitting no problems with next doors cat Brilliant

This product is obviously a highly sophisticated piece of apparatus designed to do what it claimsHOWEVER it is far from easy for middleaged or elderly folk to program or adjust as the controls have not been placed by the designers with practicality in mind It is difficult enough to manoeuvre even wellbonded pets through the initial recognition stages but just try making adjustments or changes once the flap is in the door and you are obliged to lie prostrate on the floor to locate the necessary controls Come on manufacturers try it yourselves We have abandoned our unit unused
