Great gate

Fabulous gate.....easy to fit and exactly what I wanted to stop my dog getting into the kitchen and eating the cats food! Cats are very happy to go through the gap.

Fit for purpose

Great idea. I needed to stop my dog getting out of the kitchen but my cat still needed access all the time. However, my medium sized dog learned how to squeeze through the cat flap pretty quickly so he could curl up on the sofa!!! I have had to tape the flap half closed to stop him. I still like the product though.

ok, but incorrect size info

Bought this to try to get the cat & dogs used to each other. The doorway it's in is 73.5cm, and we had to squeeze it in - definitely would not fit a smaller gap, even though it says 71cm. The top closure doesn't do a lot, but the gate stays closed. Because of the design, the gap to walk through is very narrow. In hindsight, I probably would have been better off buying a normal baby gate and cutting a cat flap into it, as this has a lot of downsides. However, if you don't need to go through the gate it's probably ideal to give a cat a bit of space with freedom.

Very little force required for gate to open

My 2 year old retriever very quickly pushed his head in the gate / cat flap bit causing the cat flap to break off completely. Then he began using the cat flap hole that was left to push his head / shoulders through causing the gate to open. Sad to say it hasn't worked as I planned for it too. And safety wise, if this was to be used for a child, I feel that if a child lean't against it enough, it would give way and a child could fall through. Very disappointed. Will be attempting to return for a refund.
