This thing is pretty cool, I don't know how well it would work on carpet but on laminate it goes round in circles, in an anticlockwise direction! My elderly girl was decidedly unsure but it definitely held her attention (which is an achievement!) especially when IT started to chase HER! Eventually she worked out that she should move out of its path. She will chase it when I throw it for her when it is switched on, and I think younger cats would delight in pouncing and attacking this! Note: you need a small Phillips screwdriver to open the battery section but the LR44 batteries ARE included with the toy. The packet states that the plastic is food grade and BPA-free.
