When dogs have damage to kidney tissues, the kidneys cannot perform as well as before. The condition is not reversible, but progression may be slowed. Dietetic foods for kidney conditions are designed to help reduce workload on the kidneys, enabling them to function more effectively. Dogs with decreased kidney function may experience loss of appetite and their food intake might decline. Hill's nutritionists and veterinarians developed Hill's Prescription Diet k/d clinical nutrition to help protect your dog's vital kidney function and enhance appetite and increase food intake. This food is made with chicken and has an irresistible taste that your dog will love. In fact, Prescription Diet k/d is clinically proven nutrition to improve & lengthen quality of life.

  • Nutrition that supports longer and better quality of life.
  • High levels of essential amino acids and L-Carnitine to help build and maintain muscle mass.
  • To entice even the pickiest of eaters, this canned food has tasty bite-sized chunks in gravy and is made with chicken & added vegetables that dogs love.

Great Product juliaeleonard on 14 March 2022

Our 9 year old lurcher Alice has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney disease. This product was recommended by our vet and thankfully she loves it even though I do have to add a very small amount of chicken to keep her interest. Highly recommended.

My 12 year old Sheltie has to have a renal diet due to kidney disease. He loves the chicken stew. Since starting on this food he condition seems to have stabilised. An expensive dog food is very reasonably priced from this company.

Excellent Clive Nicholas on 18 October 2019

Dog loves it and he is now back to his optimum weight and looking healthy

Good product. Mary on 14 January 2019

Our vet advised a kidney care diet after diagnosing our elderly dog with stage 3 kidney disease. She has taken to this new diet very well and enjoys the taste. It’s possible this diet is extending her life. She does have more energy and is eating well. We also buy the kidney care dry food for in between meals snacks.

Excellent service rogerday60 on 25 May 2018

Excellent product and service but let down by delivery company. Boxes arrive with no thought to which way up, 25% of the tins are dented. I have to check every delivery and use the most damaged tins first as some are split. Perhaps a Fragile and This Way Up sticker would help!
