I bought this as my dog ate his food in seconds and didnt bother to chew the biscuits. This has definitely slowed him down and he does chew more although can still gulp. Seems very sturdy and doesnt move around when he eats.

I have just bought two of these for my two rescue dogs who are 11 months old. The male is the height of a small collie but with long legs and the female is the height of a tallish spaniel (again with long legs). They are 11 months old and would bolt their food at terrifying speed. The bowls definitely slow down the speed with which they were gobbling their food. Also the bowls are nice to look at (blue) and surprisingly heavy with a rubber trim on the base so they don't get pushed round the floor. They seem to be pretty indestructable. If the slower feeding rate also helps cut down the amount of time the pups spend scavenging then that will be a bonus.

I have to very greedy dogs so the bowl is well challenged. They have slowed down slightly but the bowls are good just having to deal with two rescue dogs but I think with time the bowl will help. They are great bowls the dogs will start enjoying their food just will take time. I recommend the bowls for greedy dogs.
