I bought this when my miniature schnauzer was practically suffering heat stroke from all the wool he was carrying on his back while we waited for a groomer's appointment to become available. I'm now a convert. It's simple to use, not at all intimidating, and its motor is surprisingly quiet it didn't unnerve my jumpy schnauzer lad in the least.
They only got a bit hot after about 45 minutes, my scottie with a double coat was well overdue his trim. I gave them a five minute rest then trimmed the other scottie and they still coped really well.
Great value, easy to use and provides the professional standard expected
I have used the trimmers on my 2 large cavalier king charles spaniels, one who has curly hair and the other straight hair. I found it really useful that there is a function to adjust the length of the blades, as this enabled you to either take a little bit of hair off or lots off! This also comes in useful for when you are swapping between muzzle, ears and other sensitive areas, and the main body of the dog. Very good value for money, easy to use and it doesn't provide a tram-track look!
This product trims really well, is fairly quiet and doesn't overheat even after clipping three spaniels consecutively! I would highly recommend it.
Should have bought one years ago !
This electric grooming kit is wonderful, I have used it on my Cavalier, who is very old and always panting, due to his thick coat. Now he is all nice a neat and not a 'pant' since.
This arrived with no instructions inside and cardboard outer box had marks where it had obviously been opened previously. Having said that, it does come in a handy plastic case which is useful for storage. After some trial and error and googling instructions, I managed to get it working correctly. I have a Spaniel who is a mud magnet. It does a pretty good job on all her fluffers on her body, neck and legs but I wouldn't trust myself to use it on her ears/face/feet or other delicate places! I do have thinning and other scissors for those though. I will still have to take her to groomers to clip her nails and tidy her up now and then, but for maintenance this is great to have at home. It's just a matter of practice I think.
Just started using these clippers for my Labradoodle , still getting used to them. I decided to use a comb fitment first time but it kept coming off when I got to a thick patch of fur so I guess more practice needed however very quiet and didn't get hot. Pretty good for the price .
worried when i first started to use the clippers but it is so easy they work very well .we have two yorkies so will save money doing them myself
After moving to the Devon countryside, expensive trips to the dog groomer were out of the question, so I invested in these clippers to use on my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They worked very well on his rather long hair and he really seemed to enjoy the experience. It would have been better if they had come with a reusable container to keep all the bits together as the box was fairly flimsy, but other than that I'm delighted with my purchase.
It seems a good piece of equipment, but, as this is to be used fairly frequently perhaps a reusable plastic case would have been better than a box.
