Orijen is a BARK (Biologically Appropriate Real-Food Kibble) diet, formulated with high protein and low carbohydrates to replicate the same rich and diverse balance of fresh meats, fruits, vegetables and grasses that puppies and young dogs of all breeds would encounter in a wilderness setting. Made with the highest inclusions of fresh chicken, turkey, whole eggs and wild-caught whitefish, Orijen is bursting with the protein-packed, human grade meats (min 80%) your pup needs, and none of the grains or carbohydrates that are inappropriate. Instead of cereal grains, Orijen provides a full compliment of regional fruits and vegetables, including sweet and russet potatoes, blackcurrants and sunflower from Canadian prairie farms, apples and cranberries from interior orchards, and sea vegetables harvested from the pacific tidal range. Fresh lake whitefish and Chinook salmon are a superb source of unrendered essential fatty acids (inc DHA and EPA) that nutritionally support the development of cell membranes and immune systems, as well as a vibrant skin and hair coat. Helping to bridge the gap between good nutrition and peak health are psyllium, dandelion root, sweet fennel and peppermint leaf, all of which replicate the natural diet to nourish and tone the digestive tract and strengthen the liver. And, because of its high-quality protein content, your dog doesn’t need to eat as much kibble as he does with other dry foods, meaning a single bag lasts much longer, e.g. a 30 kilo dog with a normally active lifestyle requires only 275g of Orijen kibble per day.

Large Breed kibble posted on 31/08/2010 by elly-36
I ordered a bag of Orijen Puppy 7kg, instead I received a bag of Orijen Puppy Large Breed 7kg! Considering the fact that I am now mixing Orijen in with his old puppy food until it's used up (Wafcol Salmon and Potato Puppy - which after purchasing a 15kg bag he decided he hated) I didn't think there was much point quibbling the fact that I was sent the large breed food by mistake - the kibbles are larger but Rory still eats them with no problems. I even use them as treats which I could never do with Wafcol!
Logan loves this food! posted on 24/05/2010 by lindsay8
My Airedale pup, Logan loves this food...He also adores Orijen Adult! His big Airedale sister Lilly has been on the adult food now for a few months and we have seen some wonderful improvements with her, esepcially with her skin (she no longer scratches and her coat is wonderfully shiny)and of course Logan raids her bowl, so I tend now to mix some puppy and adult food together for both of them! He is bang on target weight,(but he is going to be a big boy!) and at 4.5 months seems very happy in his skin! No itching and also has very good, regular poohs! Also there were no upset tums when I changed him over from the breeder recommended food to this and we have not had any upset tums since! Also we have not experienced and hyper-manic moments. Both dogs are alert, but calm. This food is worth every penny!
Fussy Puppy! posted on 01/04/2010 by AnimalMadLou
Found this food on dogfoodadvisor.com, who rated it 5 star. Looked online at prices out of curiosity - pleased to find it not as expensive as I thought it would be, so thought I'd give it a go. Puppy loves it, I also feed my 3 cats the Orijen cat and Kitten. It's a race to see who eats first then they all dive into the bowl of the slowest eater...usually the puppy!

After a lot of research I chose this food, as we lost our last GSD to gastric bloat, and was adviced to get an excellent quality food with no grains, and here it is, not the cheapest but you do not need to feed as much of this food, our puppy loves it and is doing really well on it.

Orijen puppy leaves a clean bowl with my two. Others they only ate a bit and left the rest. Smaller portions than ordinary kimble so works out at good value. Great delivery and service
