This product is palatable to my cats and they don't object to having it in their drinking water. It was recommended by my vet.

Ok so far

My dog is an 8 year old rescue, only had her for 3 months and there is no way she will let me brush her teeth, she totally refuses dental sticks and treats too, so hoping this will do some good....2 weeks in and seems to be working, however although she drinks the water she does turn her nose up initially, so she can defo sense something different... I will use bottle and see if there is a major improvement in her doggy breath before I decide if I would buy again ....

Query on the safety of this product

I was just about to order this when I read the ingredients. Its become well known that xylitol is extremely toxic to dogs. Can you please advise if I'm worrying over nothing.
PetPlanet Says
We would like to thank the customer in this review for their comments. Petplanet would like to advise that the manufacturer if this product states that: 'Xylitol is used for its proven oral health benefits, but poisoning occurs when high doses are ingested over a short period of time. To swallow a toxic level of Xylitol from Vet Aquadent, a dog would have to drink its own bodyweight in solution diluted to recommended levels (one litre solution per kg bodyweight), within an hour. One of the most common causes of Xylitol poisoning occurs when a dog eats chewing gum as it contains between 170-1000mg of Xylitol per stick or tablet. Vet Aquadent contains 5mg Xylitol per ml of concentrated liquid or 0.1mg/ml of diluted solution.' We do hope that this reassures our customers regarding any issues with this product containing Xylitol.

My dog has no problem with the taste of this and I enjoy the fact that his breathe is getting more pleasant by the day. Wish I'd known about a product like this much earlier.

I have tried the Plaque Off as well, but I find these really keeps my dog's breath smelling great throughout the day. And their vet seems really pleased with how great their teeth look.
